“It’s my life, I will do what I want with it..” and so goes every conversation when confronted with the question of what are you doing with your life.
It’s an easy way to get out if Christ is not at the center of your life, but for someone who considers themselves as a Christian it’s a different story.
Psa 24:1 The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein.
So if everything belongs to God, so does me and everything that I have belong to Him? It’s a simple yes.
Just because I offered you a place on my couch doesn’t mean that couch is yours 😀
God made the heavens and the earth, gave us authority and told us to have dominion over everything on the earth. So if God made us and everything surrounding us, then how does anything become mine?
If we believe first chapter of the book of Genesis, then we cannot have “my money” or “my house” or anything with a prefix “my” except for My God.
So the God of heaven and earth, one who created everything around us says Trust in me or I shall not leave you nor forsake you and we have trouble believing that.
So coming back to my point, when God created heavens and the earth and everything in it and gave us dominion over everything in it, He gave us a responsibility to be reflection of His name and glory.
So let’s be a reflection of His glory in everything we do, be it our work or education or our time or anything..
All we have was given to us, we are neither creators or inventors, we merely adapt the things according to our needs.
So instead of making our lives about what we want, lets look for what God expects from us. Lets strive to use everything that we have been given to be useful for His kingdom. Because ultimately Mark 16:15 defines our mission or point of being here.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord , “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
