Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Phil 4:4
Read this verse a thousand times but I never really knew what it really meant; saw it on a number of wall hangings, bookmarks etc but never really made much sense to me…
So Let me try to break it down to what God taught me out of this.
One of the most important and basic elements in our Christian lives is the Joy of salvation; it’s derived from our Hope in God,our understanding of His sovereignty, our Faith in Him and our assurances in Him.
It is nothing but a living in the verse “even though I walk through the valley of death, i will fear no evil ”
So just by losing our Joy to our problems and situations, we are in a way telling God that we need more than just Him and that is a big annoyance to God. Also, we are telling the enemy that his plan is working.
Being Joyful in our lives in midst of problems is what God expects; in whatever areas they maybe, gives us the privilege of experiencing first hand on how God works when we are “still” in His presence.
Psalm 118:24 says, This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Just because God made this day we will rejoice; it didn’t really make much sense to me until I realized that it just tried to establish the sovereignty of God there. Because if God made this day, He knows how to take you through this day.
It’s not about just knowing that Jesus is on your boat, but it’s about knowing that He can calm the storm and your worries are unwanted surplus at best..
So instead of losing your sleep on how you going to make ends meet or how will you find a work that sustains you or when will the breakthrough come in your life, rejoice and know God always works when the world around you has established the fact that there is no way out!!!!
